The day we arrived in Panama City we ate at Café Barko. They had various Panamanian dishes including famous seafood dishes with lobster, shrimp, crab, clams, and corvina. It was very delicious and cooked with special herbs used in Panama such as Culantro, which tastes similar to cilantro. We ordered house ceviche and corvine since this fish is a famous local specialty. To drink we had sangria that our waitress recommended. She said it was the best in town and it really was good and refreshing.
In in the evening we ate close to where we were staying at Tre Scalini. Everything on the menu looked really good. They had a variety of pasta dishes with alfredo sauce or mushroom with olive oil and red pepper .
Day 2
In the morning we stopped by Panadora Noel Bakery to get some pastries and juices. It was convenient since it was close to downtown.
For dinner we went to Hardrock Café. It was a fun experience and we ordered hamburgers.
Day 3
El Trapiche was a great place to go in the morning because of its nice location downtown. They had good breakfast with bacon, eggs and fried beans. It was only a short distance to walk from our hotel.
In the evening, we ate at Segundo Muelle, a Peruvian restaurant. We had a really tasty risotto there.
Day 4
Caffe Pomodoro is a famous Italian cafe in Panama City and the pizza there was really good.
At La Posta we ate a corvina dish because we liked it so much when we ordered it the first day at Café Barko. They had a very good tiramisu that we ordered for dessert.
Day 5
We went to Riba Smith, a grocery store, where we bought some really good fresh bread and baked goods for breakfast.
That night we dined at Alberto’s, an Italian restaurant located at the beach of Panama City. Some of us had pizza and some of us pasta with seafood. Both dishes were good and the atmosphere on the restaurant’s terrace where we ate was really nice.
Day 6
For a light and inexpensive lunch we stopped by Crepes and Waffles for some crepes.
In the evening, we were at Ego, a bar that serves a variety of dishes including tapas. We sat at their long bar and had cilantro beef skewers and salad.
Day 7
On the morning of day seven we picked up a few sandwiches at Cafeteria Manolos close to our hotel.
So the last night of our stay in Panama City we decided to try another Panamanian restaurant. The name of it is Las Tinajas and it is famous for its traditional cuisine, as well as for its dance shows that are hosted there. Some of the dishes we ordered were shrimp cocktail and chicken pot tamale. It was interesting to try another Latin specialty. They had a dance show when we were there and that was really fun. The cover charge for the dance show was $5 per person.
Good variety and it sounded like you guys had fun.
